Green Building Practices

The owners of Hardwood Design are environmentally conscious at home and at the shop facility.  Co owner Bivona built his residence and incorporated solar electric power, salvaged lumber and recycled materials. 

Our sustainable processes at the shop facility include:

• Use of reclaimed antique lumber
• Use of managed forest hardwoods
• Use of water based paints and adhesives
• Responsible waste removal and recycling where ever possible
• Reuse of packaging materials

Our sustainable business model includes

• Use of local materials and labor resources
• Use of high efficiency diesel powered delivery and installation vans
• Programmable thermostats throughout plant and office
• Motion activated lighting in certain areas
• High efficiency lighting and electric motor upgrades
• Use of a Prius to travel to meetings and make small deliveries
